For this project, I wasn’t able to complete it since I was traveling and didn’t have access to fabrication tools back in ole Ohio. But, I made some drawings!

For this project, I plan to use wood, hinges, a latch, and some cylinder wooden sticks to create a little bevel at the bottom of the box. The box will be used to hold Golf tees! I decided to go with this because I always struggle losing golf tees in my golf bag because they just get thrown in there loosely. This box would make it easier to grab the tees from the bag, rather than aimlessly move your hand around inside the bag pockets.

I decided to shift my assignment a little bit because I don’t have my golf bag with me here in New York, so the box for tees isn’t as relevant. I shifted to a container for golf balls for my desk, because I randomly have a few golf balls sitting on my desk that often roll around. I got wood from the Makerspace and got to work!

I got started by laser cutting all sides of the container for both the box and the lid that goes overtop the box of golf balls.

I then glued all sides of the bottom box. I had to use all-purpose glue which I don’t think would’ve worked as well as wood glue, but there wasn’t any wood glue available in the IMA shop.

I then made the top for the box and finished the enclosure for the box! I decided to keep the sides off the lid so the top section can be both slid over the box and pushed over box. Overall, a success!
